When does a bridge

This is what Climate Action looks likeAucklanders are ready to do the right thing when it comes to reducing emissions. 40% of Auckland's climate-change causing emissions come from transportation—more than any other sector. Aucklanders would love to have opportunities to safely walk and cycle for more journeys. We need a sustainable transport system. |
Our vision: A simple, affordable solution
New Zealanders are resourceful people. We don't need the most expensive solution,
we need the solution that works.
The People's Bridge
By opening up just one lane of the Auckland Harbour Bridge to people walking, wheeling, cycling and scooting, we can give more people the freedom to choose how and when they travel around their city. Not only would it provide a fair go to those who don't drive, but making better use of the existing bridge would increase the capacity of our roading network and allow us to move more people, more quickly.
